Avocado Yogurt Dip

Update your guacamole recipe by adding protein-packed yogurt to make a healthy, flavorful dip recipe. For an extra kick, add minced jalapeño or your favorite hot sauce for some zing. Serve this healthy dip recipe with crunchy vegetables, pita chips or pretzels, or use as a sandwich spread. Avocados are a great source of heart healthy omega 3 fats, fiber, magnesium, potassium, folate, and vitamin K. They support heart, bone, skin, and digestive health. Yogurt is an excellent source of protein and vitamin D.

Ingredients

1. 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted

2. ½ cup nonfat plain yogurt

3. ⅓ cup packed fresh cilantro leaves

4. 2 tablespoons chopped onion

5. 1 tablespoon lime juice

6. ¼ teaspoon salt

7. ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper

8. Hot sauce to taste, optional

Cooking Instructions

Place avocado, yogurt, cilantro, onion, lime juice, salt and pepper in a food processor. Process until smooth. Season with hot sauce, if desired.
