The CDC has recently changed its recommendation for safe alcohol consumption to less than 1 drink per day for women and less than 2 drinks per day for men.

Research is conclusive that drinking in excess of these amounts increase your short-term health risk for mood disorder, injury and violence and your long-term risk for cancer, chronic diseases (heart &liver disease, stroke) and mental health issues.
